Palisades Fire

Malibu is my hometown. Seeing the stretch of PCH and the Palisades destroyed has been surreal. I was able to return sixteen days after the fire—walking through the aftermath, in that suspended space after the shock but before the full weight of grief, when residents still weren’t allowed to come home.
